Tamara chose the field of architecture for its diverse and challenging opportunities.  Over the years, she has gained skills working hands on in construction, continuing her eduction through intensive seminars with a focus on building construction and science, as well as working in various architecture firms in Virginia, Boston, and Vermont. For many years, she was the project architect from inception through completion of construction for single residences, multi-family housing, light manufacturing, and multi-purpose buildings for the private a public sector. She dealt with historic preservation, limited budgets, multiple funding sources, and committee collaboration as she led the projects.

In 2008, Tamara opened up her own practice to be able to be more cost effective and approachable to clients with more limited budgets.  By working with associates in a team approach, she can tailor the services Alpine Architects can provide for the project without the client bearing the cost of a large overhead.  The team is also able to collaborate to provide the manpower necessary to coordinate larger projects.  Through this approach, Alpine Architects can be effective on large and small projects.
